Testimonials

  • I saw Shelley present her story titled Go for Goal-D today and was impressed by her genuinely inspiring heartfelt story about the successful achievement of her dream. She tells about her big goal, her period of indecisiveness and the event that made her decide to achieve it. She tells about the daunting challenges she faced as she progressed towards the goal, and she tells about her feelings as the dream came true.

It is not a business story per se but the elements are directly applicable to business. It is an inspiring emotional journey that every successful business person can relate to in one way or another:

    • Some have completed the journey and will relate to it every step of the way and may be inspired to go again.

    • Some will be part way through and gain assurance that the end result justifies the risk, effort and pain.

    • Some may not have even decided what their great big goal is and be inspired to get on and set one.

I would recommend that any business event organiser ask Shelley to demonstrate the story to ensure it is in the style which your audience will acclaim.

  • Shelley delivered an entertaining and inspiring presentation to a small business owners Networking Breakfast. Her story of change, resilience, achieving her goals and dreams brought many questions from the audience and all who attended remarked afterwards how much they enjoyed what Shelley shared. Shelley is highly recommended as a professional speaker and performer.

    • Sarah Reimann - Speaker, Business Strategist & Financial Expert

  • Your story of how you set a new goal that was way out of your comfort zone and succeeded against the odds was fascinating. How often do we talk ourselves out of the difficult decisions with the rationale that we might fail, and so miss an opportunity to develop our inner self.

Success in both our business and our personal lives comes through developing an ability to pivot quickly and stay open to new ways of doing things and opportunities to develop oneself.

Your address was inspirational and well received by all who attended, as evidenced by the number of questions you received afterwards.

Thank you once again and for the printed takeways thoughtfully left for members "10 principles for achieving audacious goals".

    • Ivan Vantagiato, Creative Director, Digital Marketing Tribe

  • “Thank you for speaking at the BPW Adelaide January 2020 meeting on your goal-setting journey. It was inspirational and thought provoking, and very relevant for a group of business and professional women at the start of a new decade. It clearly resonated with our wide range of members from young Hannah to retired Judy, and I was impressed with how many members were able to elaborate on how your story connected with our diverse realities. You have a wonderful gift of communication, Shelley, clearly honed from a life of extensive experience and deep reflection. Thank you again for sharing your experience and inspiring us to stretch our own possibilities.”

  • Shelley recently spoke for us at our event for The Adelaide Entrepreneur Club. One of our key messages for anyone in the entrepreneurial arena, is the importance of mindset and positive mental attitude.

Shelley has a wonderful story of her journey after setting herself a goal for something she wanted to achieve that was completely unlike anything she had ever done before. After some initial uncertainty about whether she could do what she had in mind, a dramatic life event caused Shelley to stop thinking and start doing!

From start to finish, Shelley's talk was engaging and interactive, sharing her many learnings including goal defining, research and planning, setting up meetings and events, and overcoming setbacks and challenges.

We believe Shelley's story would be of great value to anyone in the business and start-up world, as well as anyone who enjoys hearing great stories of people who believed in themselves and made things happen!

    • Stephen Fry, Adelaide Entrepreneur Club

  • “It was a cool spring morning with the sun just starting to brighten the sky this week when I arrived for breakfast. The guest speaker for the meeting was billed as “From Legal Eagle to Bossa Nova Queen”. Well who could resist hearing that story? Certainly not I who have a deep affection for all things Brazilian.

Shelley was introduced and launched into a truly fabulous presentation of her journey from crisis to dreaming to realisation of that dream. The backdrop to the presentation was a glorious image of Shelley with her Brazilian musicians against the beautiful vista of Ipanema beach.

Her three-year journey challenged her resilience, creativity and commitment. In telling her story Shelley shared the poetry of Antonio Carlos Jobim’s ‘Girl from Ipanema’ and ‘Song of the Jet’ which carried us to the sandy beaches of Rio. In doing so we were drawn into the experience so that we tasted the sea air and felt the warm breeze on our faces.

If that wasn’t enough we were then transfixed by the beauty of Shelley working effortlessly (it seemed) with her musicians singing ‘Garota de Ipanema’ in Brazilian Portuguese. Magical!

In returning to the room I felt that Shelley had shared with us not just a lesson but a gift, a precious gem which I will always have with me.”

  • “Shelley shared her incredible journey toward holding a cabaret show in Rio De Janeiro at today’s Feed Your Brain. Her five lessons from the session were so valuable, but the one that resonated with me the most was ‘creativity in implementation’. I think that is such a crucial lesson in achieving any goal (small or big), as no matter how well thought out your plan is, in the execution phase something won’t go to plan or something will go wrong, and you need to be equipped to to alter your thinking or your position to suit the situation at hand. Using creativity to resolve those setbacks is critical as you’ll begin to see things differently.”
